Vertica on VMS?

Can Vertica be installed on VMS? Yes, we still have VMS (OpenVMS VAX version 7.3).

Is VMS itself still supported? I used it at a university about 25 long years ago!

Anyway, here is a list of supported 64-bit operating systems on x86, x64 architectures for Vertica 6:

• • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 and 6
  • SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 and 11
  • Oracle Enterprise Linux 6 (Red Hat Compatible Kernel only)
  • Debian Linux 5 and 6
  • CentOS 5 and 6

You can run Veritca on some pretty cheap commodity hardware.

Thanks for the reply.

I was just curious if Vertica could be installed on VMS. We have an old system and the support does run out next year so we'll be moving the information from it into Vertica. I thought maybe since we're running HP Vax and Vertica is owned by HP that there may be some cross over. Thanks for clarifying!
