Hi, I am trying to upgrade my database with a new licence key but am getting a weird error (see image):

Anyone know how I can fix this?

Also, the error message doesn't seem grammatically correct. Shouldn't it say something like "Restart the database before Upgrading the License Key"?

That message just means you are trying to update the license on a database that is not running. Just stop the currently running database and start the one you want to upgrade.

And yes, the message itself should probably be worded a bit better :)

Hey, I had that problem sometime back. I had to uninstall the RPM and then re-install it. FYI... I was using SUSE 11.1.

zypper remove libstdc++
zypper install libstdc++

#josh - Thank you. That worked! But I wonder why.

#julie - We are trying the beta version that was made available at the Big Data Conference in Boston. We want to test some of the new features. The version is listed as 7.19. When its released I assume it'll be 7.2? Not sure.

You should report this to Vertica in case they see this issue again.
