Tracking geolocation over time

I am evaluating Vertica now for a solution to a new product idea we are addressing. Basically, we have a lat/lon for users who use our app. Obviously, this changes as they move about. If we store the changes in lat/lon (say, every minute or maybe if it changes by more than .01 degrees etc), can vertica be used to answer questions like:

* show me people who typically move around less than 10 miles per day?
* show me users who moved from locationX(defined by a radius) to locationY and back to locationX
* give me users whose location changes more than X kilometers during the daytime (I.E. at work) but goes back X kilometers (presumably to home) at night

General question, I know. But a general answer here will suffice!
