Hello guys,
I have to do a comparison between Vertica and Monetdb for university...Can I use TPC-H for Vertica? I know that I can use it for Monetdb...
I'm totally noob for this world

Hi,

I think you should be able to use TPC-H just fine with Vertica. It supports a subset of ANSI SQL-99.

There may be some oddball incompatibilities you might run into, but there should be easy work rounds.

I'd be interested in seeing your test results! Vertica has a lot of its roots in PostgreSQL and it doesn't fair to well with TPC-H

Heh heh, I never said you'd get "shiny" results from a TPC-H benchmark of Vertica... but I think you can still run one

Thanks guys, I've downloaded ssb-dbgen from the first topic linked by sKwa...How I can use it now? Can I use it for Monetdb too?
Excuse me but I'm a newbie also for Linux, I've installed Fedora only for using Vertica..I need simple explanations..
