Where can I find DB comment???

Post by Josh » Sat Dec 06, 2014 1:06 pm

Hey,

When creating a DB in admintools we have the option to add a "comment" when naming the DB. Anyone know where (i.e. system table) in the DB the comment can be retrieved?

Thanks in advance!
Thank you!
Joshua

I played around with that one for a while. It's a (what's the word for a non-functional field)?
Checkout vertica.tips for more Vertica resources.

It's interesting to note that there is no COMMENT ON DATABASE SQL command :o :?

From the SQL Guide:

COMMENT ON Statements
The following functions allow you to create comments associated with HP Vertica database objects:
  • COMMENT ON COLUMN
    COMMENT ON CONSTRAINT
    COMMENT ON FUNCTION
    COMMENT ON LIBRARY
    COMMENT ON NODE
    COMMENT ON PROJECTION
    COMMENT ON SCHEMA
    COMMENT ON SEQUENCE
    COMMENT ON TABLE
    COMMENT ON TRANSFORM FUNCTION
    COMMENT ON VIEW
