Difference between Logical Schema and Schema

Post by kodakalla » Mon Jul 14, 2014 12:40 pm

Hi,
following information is provided in "Vertica admin guide"
"
Designing a Logical Schema

Designing a logical schema for an HP Vertica database is no different than designing for any other
SQL database. A logical schema consists of objects such as Schemas, Tables, Views and
Referential Integrity constraints that are visible to SQL users. HP Vertica supports any relational
schema design of your choice. "

I am wondering what is the difference between Logical schema and schema? I am from oracle back ground and need some help to undrerstand if a logical schema can have multiple physical schemas in it.

Thanks,
Giri
