Hi,
SQL Sever has a nice option called "Compatibility level" which lets me run the DB is a mode compatible with SQL Server 2005 (90), SQL Server 2008 (100), or SQL Server 2012 (110).
Forgive me if this is too stupid of a question, but is there a similar option is Vertica? So, if I have Vertica 7 installed on a dev server, but 6.1 in prod, can I run the dev db in 6.1 mode to a release to prod?
Is there a Compatibility level option in Vertica?

Re: Is there a Compatibility level option in Vertica?
Hi Sarah,
I do not believe there is a way to make a Vertica DB run as an older version. I'd imagine it'd be really, really complicated in Vertica from an engineering perspective.
Maybe you can use one of the Vertica VMs provided on the 6.1 DL page for your testing?

The VMs are in the "Download HP Vertica 6.1SP3 (6.1.3) Virtual Machines" section of the page.
