Change Database Owner

Post by Julie » Thu Apr 19, 2012 9:33 pm

Hello,

We created our Vertica database using the default settings. So now the database is owned by the Linux user dbadmin. Is it possible to change the database owner without reinstalling Vertica from scratch?

If anyone can help, I'd really appreciate it!

OMG! Thank you! This is perfect! I tried this in our test system and it worked perfectly! Now to get signoff for PROD! Thank you so much! I'm a new DBA at my company and was thrown into this Vertica thing - which I certainly don't mind. Anyway, thanks for your help sKwa!
Thanks,
Juliette

You are welcome.
Of course it very simple example, GRANT statement has other useful options, see docs.Authorization and authentication very important in DB administration :)

Good luck.

Hi,

Me again, how did you get your prompt to look like this:
  • [dbadmin :: ~ ]~>
Julie
Thanks,
