Near Real Time loading

Post by Mrao » Tue Feb 04, 2014 6:55 pm

Has anyone done near real time loading using trickle feeds into Vertica?

If yes, pls explain how you achieved it?

Adding more info.

I have data generated by monitoring devices and I want to load the data every 5 min. Basically, it is a trickle feed which I want to load on near real time basis.

I am looking for a best design approach to load and store the data. Pls let me know if you have done any real time implementations/any white paper/case study.

Vertica is designed to load data more frequently than every 5 minutes. Have you attempted reading the documentation or searching for white papers yourself?

Sorry, this feels to me like a "do it for me" question.

Thanks for the reply.

Communication is always a barrier. I was asking if anyone had implemented near real time situations. I want to carry their lessons learnt and best practices.

thanks

Can you possibly narrow your question down to what about real time loading you are curious about? Your question feels too broad and there may be too many possible answers.
