Is it possible to create user defined data types in Vertica? I would like to create a record type to be available as the data type for columns in a table.

Hi,
As of release 6.1 we can not create tables that have columns defined as a record type data type.
Is there a reason why you'd want to store data like that in a data warehouse? Maybe look into de-normalizing the data.
