I have installed VMPlayer and Vertica community edition (Virtual Machine) on WIndows 7 64 bit machine. When I run the .vmdk file, it only takes me to VMPlayer interface. How do I get to the Vertica database interface? How to run vertica database?
VMware server 2.0 and workstation 7.0 (.vmdk)

Hi!

Welcome to the forums!

What do you mean by "it only takes me to VMPlayer interface"?

Are you at a Linux desktop? If so, logged in as the database admin (dbadmin by default) you can launch a terminal window and then run admintools or vsql from there.

Nitesh, where did you download the .vmdk file from?

I downloaded the VM file “VMware Server 2.0 and Workstation 7.0 (vmdk) “from http://my.vertica.com/. There are 2 files downloaded in the zip version.
HP Vertica Analytic Database Server.vmdk
HP Vertica Analytic Database Server.vmx

Once the VMPlayer was installed, i run both these files.

I am using windows 7 (64 bit) machine and not Linux.
