Hi,

I want to download and install vertica 7 on my windows 8 laptop.

I have access to the software downloads page.

https://my.vertica.com/download-community-edition/

There are so many software. Which Vertica software should I download? Should I go for any virtual VM?

I have VMware already installed for Teradata.

thanks

I only see 4. You download the package for the appropriate Linux version that you've installed.

Here's a guide to installing it on CentOS.

I downloaded "VMWARE VSPHERE(OVF)" under "Download HP Vertica 7.0.0 Virtual Machines". Uncompressed it. I see two files Vertica 7.0.0 for ESX 4.0.ovf and vmdk. I clicked ovf file and vmware opened up but it just hangs there.

Did I download a right package? If not, pls point me to the right package.

I was able to install it finally.

The single node Vertica version is running fine on my laptop. It is on VMWARE. i am stuck with another problem.

I have a query tool installed on my laptop and I tried to connect to Vertica on the VMWARE. Looks like VMWARE was not accepting the query tool access request. After doing some research, found that a network should be established between my desktop and vmware.

Can you pls help me setup the network if you have already done it?
