Can the console be installed to run against Vertica 5?

I am trying to set up the authentication method that Vertica will use. In Admintools I get an error stating "Unable to find $EDITOR or $VISUAL editors."

How do I fix this?

How can I find the last day of last month using SQL in Vertica? For instance, last month was January and the last day was the 31st. I'd like to get back 31. And for next month, the answer would be 29. Thanks.

Is there a way to create tables with a auto increment column like in MySQL and SQL Server?

Does vertica support public synonyms (like Oracle). Users are complaining that they always have to prefix a table name with the schema?
