Re: Vertica Nodes Randomly Fail
Hi Scutter, I totally agree that CentOS work's with Vertica. I've set it up many times with out incident. Maybe it was the VM template I was using. It was not provided to me from the IT department. Anyway, I used Jim's query (http://www.vertica-forums.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1194#p3818) to find out ...

Re: Vertica Nodes Randomly Fail
Scutter,
Thanks a bunch for you help in this thread. I decided to drop all the nodes and use Red Hat as opposed to CentOS.
This time when I did the install I used the -T -S default options.
So far, the cluster has stayed up longer than ever on CentOS.
I'll keep you posted!

Re: Vertica Nodes Randomly Fail
Hi Scutter,
I renamed the /opt/vertica/config/vspread.conf to vspread.conf_old. Then I reinstalled Vertica. After the install, I checked the new vspread.conf file and it looks exactly the same as the old one.
Bummer...

Re: Vertica Nodes Randomly Fail
Hi,
Bad news... woke up this morning and all three nodes were down Seems like one failed, then later another failed bringing down the whole database.
This is baffling!

Re: Vertica Nodes Randomly Fail
Hi Scutter, Sorry, I messed up on the first attempt at reconfiguring the spread. I re-ran the vertical_install like this: /opt/vertica/sbin/install_vertica -T -S default -s vertica01,vertica02,vertica03 -r vertica-6.1.2-0.x86_64.RHEL5.rpm Although, after running the above command, the /opt/vertica/c...
