Can someone please list out the advantages of HP Vertica over MS SQL Server 2008.
Currently we are using SQL Server 2008. We deal with millions of records. We need to confirm whether moving to Vertica will give us any edge comparing to SQL Server 2008.

I need to COPY data from SQL Server to Vertica. I need to delimit the records with an unique non printable, non-keyboard character to ensure the same doesn't exists in the data.
