No default partition exist in Vertica. Vertica is a bit different when compared to Postgres in terms of storage. You will need to partition all your data. Hi, The recommended size by Vertica is 4-5 GB per node. If your catalog goes beyond this limit, you may start experiencing Slowness on the database. Hi, The basic answer would be....Vertica is not an In memory database. The functionality, you are looking for, is found in In-memory databases(Voltdb and many more).
