Re: Execution time exceeded run time cap

Thanks Sharon. Unfortunately the destination database is not Vertica.

Execution time exceeded run time cap

Hi, I'm moving very large tables to a backup database using JDBC, and have run into this error java.sql.SQLException: [Vertica][VJDBC](3326) ERROR: Execution time exceeded run time cap of 04:00 at com.vertica.util.ServerErrorData.buildException(Unknown Source) at com.vertica.dataengine.VResultSet.fe...

Re: export to csv

Great, thanks for your help!

I wonder if this would be more efficient than a java or c++ program. A script is certainly more maintainable.

export to csv

I need to export a fair amount of Vertica data to csv files to transfer to a non-Vertica database. EXPORT AS SELECT to a csv would be perfect. Oracle, for example, provides a UTL_FILE procedure to do this.

Any hints?

Thanks, Jim

Re: Partial online backup

Thanks JIm, EXPORT via SELECT is a great place for me to start. Let me read up.

Also makes me wonder how much slower INSERT AS SELECT into a different database would be than EXPORT/IMPORT.

Re: Partial online backup

Thanks again, but I really don't want to get off topic. Perhaps I or another will post RE our production issues.
